Baby Congrats

Friends of ours are expecting their first baby (and the ultrasound tech. hinted that it was a boy!) So YAY, more blue. Charles is especially excited that it's a boy, because he says "Girls are scary." Things that make you go "HMMMMM!" ;0) I think girl children are wonderful, duh! My friends Kim'n'Brad have two fantabulous brilliant sweet twin girls. Double the fun!

Anywho, this card was especially fun to make. It's a mish-mash of different papers, stamps, & inks:

PAPERS: I wanted to use up some of the homemade textured paper from making 3d flowers. It was peach coloured paper but I painted it with watered-down "Cool Caribbean" reinker and let it dry flat. Then I punched it out with my S.U. scallop punch. My fab friend Kimmy found me two big marvy scallop punch (YA BABY!) so they were used on here too. The little bear is embossed on vellum cardstock and punched with a 1 inch circle punch. The paper that is 1 1/4 inch behind that is "Bubble Paper" tutorial here. I stuck the bear on with crystal effects (a thin layer behind him, which made the bubble paper show through under him.) Using other adhesives to adhere vellum always looks messy to me...STAMPS: This Itsy Bitsy bear is from eat cake graphics LOVE Holly's uber cute designs. The baby clothes line is a retired S.U. wheel. The sentiment on the front is a retired S.U. hostess set "So Very." The inside (below) uses alphabets numbers "4" and the headline alphabet "U" (Insides are so often neglected, no?)

INKS: Encore ultimate metalic teal (for the "happy" & the "4"--embossed with clear e.p.) "Cool Caribbean" ink for the clothes line. Aegean Blue Versamagic chalk also embossed to do the "so very" & the "U." The clothes were coloured in with artists water-colour pencil crayons. The white dots are done with a signo gel pen & the bear is touched up with "Cool Caribbean" reinker.

Thanks for looking and Yay for Babies!

I like the scalloped circles together and the white gel pen dots around the big one. Ties them together better I think. I found they didn't match overly well and that helps take away from it and the size difference. He's a cute litte guy.
