Seed Packet card (LOVE Katy's template!)

Found this great seed packet project on Jessica's blog and she links to the template made by Katy (WOW!) What gorgeous templates. So easy to work with, but they give you a polished look thanks to her design. I can see many seed packet cards in my future. I have GOT to take a class and figure out how to use the computer to make templates.

I'm lovin this Blooming with Love set. I tried masking for the second time ever, and stamped the wheel barrow to create a mask & then stamped the flowers into it. (I found I had to touch them up with a marker a little though.)

In case you're new to masking like me, h
ere's some tutorials:

How-to make the wheel barrow card:

Print out & shape seed packet
template:
  1. Print & cut it out
  2. Trace it onto cardstock with pencil
  3. Cut it and erase pencil lines
  4. Score & fold
  5. Adhere it shut
Stamping, Colouring, & Embellishing:
  • Stamp white Stitched background on standard size basic gray coloured card & set aside to dry
  • Stamp image (I stamped the wheel barrow from Blooming with Love in stazon & masked for the addition of the flowers)
  • Colour flowers with blender pens and reinkers (Reinkers: tempting turquiose in various shades for flowers, Greens dotted on: certain celery, mellow moss, old olive)
  • Add white flowers with signo gel pen
  • Put tiny dots of Crystal Effects in flower centers (I squeezed some out onto a scrap & used a needle tip to apply it) & add glitter (this is SU turquoise glitter)

Colouring The wheelbarrow:

  • Colour the wheel barrow with a silver pen. (For some reason I'm on a Zig Painty pen kick. It's smelly, but I love the silver look. I like to scratch on shadows or details with a paper piercer or the end of my scissors. It adds texture and changes the silver colour up a little bit.)
  • Paint the wheel with Basic Grey reinker, I like building colour as I go. (starting with a light wash and adding shadow)
  • Add glitter pen details on wheelbarrow wheel (smudge with finger when wet)
  • Shade in behind the wheelbarrow with reinker wash to anchor the image (this is a very weak wash of tempting turquoise & basic grey)

Finishin' the card:

  • Distress edges with side of scissors, nail or distress tool (You can also smudge the ink lines of the seed packet template with a lightly damp paper towel for a worn look)
  • Adhere image onto seed packet & stick that on the card
Hope you have a fantastic weekend,
filled with craftin' or whatever makes your heart smile! :0)

Love your seed packet!! Wonderful job on the masking! I love the colors that you used!

Thanks for all the unique ideas! It seems you have a lot of them swirling in your head! LOL!

Did you know. . .I don't like masking because I figure if I have to cut the image out, I prefer to layer it rather than stamping over it and wasting my cut out image. LOL!
