Rockin' it Heavy Metal Style! (Y.K.Y.R. challenge)

I think I went a little overboard on this heavy metal! Heavy...because this is the weightiest card I've ever made. Maybe 5 pounds? Okay, more likely 3 pounds 5 ounces, LOL. Metal...because this has 7 kinds of metal on it for August's Rockin' it Heavy Metal Style challenge on Deb & Julie's Y.K.Y.R. blog. I wanted to see how many kinds of "metal" I could get onto one card:

Metal # 1

Metallic cardstock (What a cheat, huh?) But this was special cardstock from my aunt & uncle.

Metal #2

Plain old metallic embossing (Light silver embossing powder on the main Basic Gray card & Dark gun-metal silver e.p. on the band across the bottom)

Metal # 3

The newer Faux-Metal Stamping: where you emboss in silver on glittery silver cardstock:

Metal #4:

Altered Brads: I glued some gems to some of these (with Crystal Effects) and layered them with metal flowers. I glittered some brads with Crystal Effects & Dazzling Diamonds. (Lots more on altered brads here.)

Metal # 5

Metal embellishments: I used Platinum Hodge Podge Hardware & the new Stampin' Up! Filigree metal Flowers...

Metal # 6

Scalloped metal mat: made by gluing tinfoil to cardstock & scalloping it. I punched holes in the scallop & added gems And added two embossed lines with my Scor-Pal

Metal # 7

2 kinds of Faux metal Tin Tile (plain tin & tin painted with Gesso.) It's made with tinfoil, a Cuttlebug, & a Scor-Pal. [Tutorial to follow in the next post...]

Tutorial on the Tin Tile technique here.

Happy Stampin' you stampalicious Stampers! :o)

P.S. My Duh, forgot to list stamps used. The flowers in the circle are from Fancy Pants From the Garden. The sentiment uses Warmest Regards (the word "Happy") and Happy Everything (the words "For You"

PS: You singlehandedly (is that one word?), sold me on the new SU filigree brads ... in spite of Anna's glowing praise for 'em. I was on the fence, but you pushed me over you l'il rascal you!

You can never have too much metal...well, maybe at the airport :0) Great card!

Gorgeous card!! I don't think you could use any more metal on that card, I think you covered all the metal aspects of it. LOL! Great job!!!

What a lovely card. Gosh where does all that creativity come from? You must have 10 mojo fairies giving you ideas from all sides. Even with all that metal, it is super gorgeous.

I have to tell you a fact though. I thought you turned your card image into b/w in photoshop and posted it, since there is no hint of color anywhere.

See how much business you bring to SU, I was telling Deb that I am going to add these to my list, because they are so pretty. Now looks like she is going to. We need to find a US consultant that is your friend and and gives us all the deals our other one gives :-)

Why don't you move to US?

WOW, you've really out done yourself here. This is simply amazing! As they say to Tigger "You're rockin' the forest!!!!!"
I'm so glad to see the filigree flowers, that's on my must have list (along with way to many other things)...sigh....
Although when I saw the metal challenge, I was expecting to see some pop can metal. Wasn't that a link from your blog once some time ago? Oh, it was how to sharpen your punch. But would have been a cool addition.... Now there's an idea for YKYR challenge card # 2.

Mel,
If you lived close to me, I would be at your door, saying will you be my teacher. You stamp and embellish the way I think about. Someone stop me before I add any more. That card is beyond awesome.
