(10) Skeleton Stack card (with patterned paper faux ribbon & bow)

Stamp 'dem Bones: Do you think it's okay to stamp skeletons all year round? heehee. I love this Mr.Bones guy so much. He looks so cute with glitter pen & Crystal Lacquer on top. It's a fun blingy look; I can't wait to try it on flowers & stuff.

Faux Ribbon & Bow: The Eat Drink & be Scary paper in the kit has this perfect strip of skeleton galz (love those cute little bows.) All of the strips on that paper are great for faux ribbons & bows. There's embossing on it too so it's extra nifty.

Skeleton Galz: I had a blast makin' a center for the bow by adding one of the black gemstones from the kit to the skeleton's eye and sticking it on the purple button (that's in the kit too.) :O) The skeletons are balancing more of those black gemstones (the picture doesn't really do them justice...)

Only 3 days of Halloweenie-ness left. By the by, I am going to unpack, etc...So I'll post next on Sunday. Until then, ghouls and boys...! ;O)

Supplies:

These all come in the Paper Garden Projects "Happy Halloweenie!" kit:

Stamps:
  • The Skeleton (‘Mr. Bones the Dancing Skeleton’)
  • "Happy Halloweenie" sentiment
Cardstock:
  • White cardstock (3 2/8 by 7 1/2 inches to stamp the skeletons on (great quality)
  • Black textured cardstock ( 8 1/2 by 8 inches folded in half)
  • Black textured cardstock ( 1 1/4 by 8 inch piece for the scallop)
  • Black textured cardstock (accents two 1 inch circles)
  • Green textured cardstock (1 3/8 inch circle)
  • 1 inch section of the Eat Drink & be Scary patterned paper
Embellishments:
  • Black rhinestones (they have a gorgeous silver base)
  • 3 buttons (1 large purple opaque button & 2 transparent buttons: orange & purple)

Things from your supplies/Paper Garden Projects:
Punches:

Instructions:

The card & the image:

Step 1. Cut the pieces:
  • White paper (3 2/8 by 7 1/2 inches to stamp the skeletons on
  • Black textured cardstock ( 8 1/2 by 8 inches folded in half)
  • Black textured cardstock ( 1 1/4 by 8 inch piece for the scallop)
  • Black textured cardstock (accents two 1 inch circles)

Step 2.
Stamp ‘Mr. Bones the Dancing Skeleton’ onto the White cardstock (3 2/8 by 7 1/2 inches.) I embossed them using Black ink & clear embossing powder.

Step 3. Make scallop using an SU slit punch or a threading --water border punch. Adhere the scallop to the card (so it sticks off approximately 3/4 of an inch.) Add white sots to it with an Inkssentials white pigment pen.

Step
4. Colour the skeletons with Watercolour pencils & water brush, ( or Inks, markers, or other medium.) Add shadows (in Gray marker ) & glitter 'dem bones with Sakura Star dust Gelly Roll Pen. Finish their bones with Crystal Lacquer. Let it dry.

Step 5. Adhere the image to the card & add stitching. (Pierce and then stitch in black thread. It's easiest if you stitch before you add the black rhinestones.)

The faux Ribbon & faux Bow:

Step 1. Cut a 1 inch section of the Eat Drink & be Scary patterned paper. Trim it to make a a 7 3/4 inch long piece and two faux ribbon bow shapes. Cut a skeleton head out from the scraps left over.

Step 2. Assemble the bow:

  • Attach the patterned paper strip to the card.
  • Adhere the 2 small transparent buttons onto the lolly pops with Crystal Lacquer. (They even match the colours in the paper!)
  • Finish the embellishment by adhering the faux bow bits to it.
  • Glue the large purple button in the middle & adhere the skull onto it.
  • Finish the ends by adding a one inch circle of black cardstock (with stitches added using an Inkssentials white pigment pen.)

Finish it off by gluing one black rhinestone onto the skull's eye! Add the bow to the card & glue the other black rhinestones above the skeleton's hands & feet:

The Sentiment:

Step 1.
Stamp the words
  • Stamp "Happy Halloweenie" in black ink & emboss it (on the white cardstock.)
  • Tear the bottom of the paper.
  • Edge it in a non-permanent black marker & smudge it with a water brush.
  • Cut the words apart (you can trim the "IE !" part of to make it just say "Happy Halloween")

Step 2. Punch & layer the circles:

Green textured cardstock (1 3/8 inch circle)
Patterned Paper (1 1/4 inch circle)
Black cardstock (1 inch with white
pen details)

Step 3. Adhere the words to the circle (and the circle to the card too) with foam mounting tape.

Thanks for spending time with me.
Hope your day is inkredible! :O)
