Angel's Landing Blog Hop (New Release Peeks!!!)

Edited to add: Hi you wonderful crafty people you. I'm taking today (Thursday) off. The days of double tutorials at the beginning of this week wore me down a bit. :o)

Want some inspiration, in the meantime?
The Caardvarks Crew is creating like crazy!
It's day three of the GCD hop HERE

Judi kindly asked me to be a guest of her talented Angel's Landing design team--what an honour--and I even get to join them in today's Blog Hop! Hopefully, you can hop along too. (There are 2 new gorgeous releases & blog candy give-aways as well!) ;o)

Angel's Landing

If you came from Lisa Cook's blog, then you're in the
right hopping order! (Isn't her work incredible?)

I love Judi's artwork. Her brand new sets--Autumn Tweetings (used here) & Ho Ho Holidays--simply take my breath away with their combination of cuteness & class!

Autumn Tweetings:

A pair of Birdies:

Isn't the way these birds are looking at each other too cute for words? :o)

These fine feathered friends are dressing up two
label-shaped boxes that I can't wait to give to my Nana & Papa
(They both love bird-watching in their garden.)

Momma Bird:

Gotta love the perfect artistic simplicity of the
branch & berries in these images...

Baby Bird:

blue bird of happiness. :-D

(digital embossing on patterned paper)

To Emboss the Digital Images, I did this stuff:
  1. Started with 2 patterned papers (7Gypsies: Small Script & Kraft Vie).
  2. Painted them with an acrylic paint wash: white paint+some water
  3. Stamped in the paint (with a text stamp) for the baby bird.
  4. Dried the painted papers (under books to flatten them).
  5. Set Photoshop printer settings-Momma's printed at 40% Baby 30%
  6. Prepared embossing powder & printed the birds out.
  7. Embossed the wet printer ink (clear embossing powder) & heat set.
Then I coloured them with Copic markers, trimmed around
them & matted them on blue-red cardstock.

Gosh, Mel, thank you so much for your comments about my images :). I've probably been here for 15 minutes studying your photo enlargements, appreciating all the texture and detailing you've put into them. The berries are so dimensional, they look like they would lift right off my monitor. Love the idea to size the pair differently to make Mama & Baby. They look fantastic on your neat box templates. Wonderful project.
