Anywho, this card was especially fun to make. It's a mish-mash of different papers, stamps, & inks:
PAPERS: I wanted to use up some of the homemade textured paper from making 3d flowers. It was peach coloured paper but I painted it with watered-down "Cool Caribbean" reinker and let it dry flat. Then I punched it out with my S.U. scallop punch. My fab friend Kimmy found me two big marvy scallop punch (YA BABY!) so they were used on here too. The little bear is embossed on vellum cardstock and punched with a 1 inch circle punch. The paper that is 1 1/4 inch behind that is "Bubble Paper" tutorial here. I stuck the bear on with crystal effects (a thin layer behind him, which made the bubble paper show through under him.) Using other adhesives to adhere vellum always looks messy to me...
STAMPS: This Itsy Bitsy bear is from eat cake graphics LOVE Holly's uber cute designs. The baby clothes line is a retired S.U. wheel. The sentiment on the front is a retired S.U. hostess set "So Very." The inside (below) uses alphabets numbers "4" and the headline alphabet "U" (Insides are so often neglected, no?)Thanks for looking and Yay for Babies!

I love all of the embossing! Super cute cards....and your friend has no idea....boys are MUCH scarier than girls!! :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Melissa. You did a fantastic job on all the layers!! So much detail that all just fits together!
ReplyDeleteLittle boys are wonderful, but so are little girls. I love getting news about new babies coming!
oh, so beautiful Mel. Love the textures and colours and layers :) very very special
ReplyDeletegot to do omething about being anonymous, card is very well done and babies are miraculous i know cuz you are mine love momp
ReplyDeleteI like the scalloped circles together and the white gel pen dots around the big one. Ties them together better I think. I found they didn't match overly well and that helps take away from it and the size difference. He's a cute litte guy.
