Gone Sealife & Gel card SILLY!

Another gel water card. I'm nothing if not obsessive. ;0) I've been using what I have. Part of my New Year's "use it or lose it" policy, where if I don't use it, I sell it. (Starvin' student reality has finally caught up with me, lol.) It's tricky to use retired things for my stamp club, but they said they don't mind (sweethearts all of 'em!)

Even though this set is retired, it's still a fave. Love the shark (real sharks are fascinating [they can see electrical fields], but they scare me silly; I was allowed to watch JAWS movies when I was way to young! lol.) Nothing scary about this smilin' face though:

Card Details:

The frame
is 4 4/8 x 3 2/8" (to fit a 4x3 inch baggie.) The window was punched with a Marvy scallop square punch and is made with a hot cuttlebug distressing technique:
  1. Cut frame piece of cardstock (this is Blue Bayou)
  2. Punch a window (I used the Marvy Giga punch--square scallop)
  3. Run your new cardstock frame through a cuttlebug in an embossing folder
  4. Swipe the raised areas with white craft ink
  5. Sprinkle with embossing powder (I used clear)
  6. Heat it
Card Supplies:

Homemade turquoise circle doodads: Do you get bored with the embellishments that you have? I made these using the define your life set and emboss resist technique and punched out extras, since turquoise is my favourite colour. (Please see this post if you'd like specific details) I've altered them for a boyish look by adding Fresh Favourites eyelets (S.U.) & mounting them onto Soft sky circles punched with this 5/8 inch circle punch.) You have to press hard on that punch but i love the size. They're mounted on Dimensionals for some pop (I love cheap tricks!) ;0)

The Black netting ribbon
is by May Arts (I cut it)

The sentiment tab is made by:
  1. Stamping happy birthday from S.U.'s Birthday Whimsy '08 sab set (in black Stazon)
  2. Punching it with a key tag punch
  3. Mounting it on a half of a scallop square (which I used the Marvy jumbo punch to remove from that mat before I cuttlebugged it.)

Thanks so much for stopping by (and please forgive that this is just another gel card--There are more to come too, sorry!) ;0)
