Night Sky {Jena Witch} Treat box

First things first,
Happy Birthday Bonnie!!!

If you don't know our Bonnie, then you must have been living under a rock with some ghouls and goonies. ;o) She's one unnaturally talented, side-splittingly hilarious, super sweet gal! She's so inspirational it's scary! Happy birthday Bonnie!!!! I'm so delighted to know you. I hope this is your most delightful year yet!

LPSC34 {Jena Witch} Night -Sky treat bag (melstampz)

Can you ever get enough of Halloween craftiness? I'm gettin' into the spirit of things--witch is easy to do with these stamps, ynuk ynuk. This is another little idea for a treat box with {Jena Witch} from the Little Paper Shop who's riding along in a night sky full of little stars...

Making stars is one of my favourite cheap tricks: it's fun because they glitter in the light, but they're super fast to make--just pierce the paper like crazy with a paper piercer or needle or sumthin'! :o)

If you'd like to light up the stars, you can add one of those battery powered lights (in with some treats). Wouldn't it be fun with hard candy in clear wrappers? Methinks the combo of the candies & light would make for a colourful glow. I'd have put candy in here to show ya, but candy steers clear of our house. It meets its untimely demise too quickly. MUahahahaha! ;o)

Hope you can try out this weeks LPS colour challenge!
Enter here on the Little Paper Shop blog:

Just make a card with Red Orange & Yellow
(I cheated and put it all on black) ;o)=

Step 1} Build the box:

A) Print the box template (this one was printed on Black Magic Core'dinations cardstock) orange on the inside. :o) Cut it out & score it.

B) Stamp the box, if you like. I stamped a fine text background in White pigment ink & embossed in clear embossing powder.

C) To make stars: Pierce the box randomly with a paper piercer on the front & back (if you want to make stars on it.)

D) Make & embellish the handle:

1) Punch the handles out where the template indicates. Use a circle punch or trace something round-I used a 1 3/8 inch circle punch to punch around the 1" circle.
2) Make the yellow trim circles: Punch a circle from cardstock slightly smaller than your handle (I had a 1 1/4" circle for this handle, so I punched a 1 inch circle for the yellow piece & cut a circle around it).
3) Embellish it: Adhere the yellow trim circle behind the handle & pierce and stitch it.

Step 2} Add clouds the box. (This is Stitch Witchery) how apropos, hey? ;o) I just cut it up in cloud shapes (by folding a couple pieces in half & cutting all at once to get the basic shape then trimming.) It's stuck it on here with fabric glue.

Step 3} Make Jena & her broom:

A) Paper piece {Jena Witch} colour here & add glitter to her stockings & hat.

B)To make the broom:

1) Stamp it on thick cardstock
2) Pierce & stitch it with yellow embroidery thread
3) Cut it out & add more loose embroidery thread
4) Wind wire around the broom top
5) Stick it on a bamboo skewer

Step 4} Adhere Jena Witch & her broom to the box (over the moon handle) ;O)

The idea to make Jena riding over the circular window moon came from
my talented teammate Silvia & this scarily stunning card:

Isn't that the cutest!?!

I agree with everyone, you are an amazingly talented woman! I find myself feeling sort of lost and lonely in my empty nest and your art inspires me and for a time takes my mind off of my troubles. Thank you for sharing your talent, techniques and tutorials. I know that sometimes health problems make it difficult. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers and send healing thoughts and ((hugs)) your way.
