LPS {Christmas Tags} set--scallops from a tag stamp

Cuttlebug-Challenge#54-mel-mccarthy

From Halloween to Christmas--where does the time go? I've been sleeping my time away, but it's only two months less a day until Christmas! (Squeak!) Soooh, today...a traditional-styled holiday card. Funnily enough, I had originally made this card for the Cuttlebug Challenge (to use Glimmer Mist) but it turned out that that was supposed to be a Halloween card. My bad--you snooze you lose--literally in my case. ;o)

I had hoped to get to the Little Paper Shop sketch as well this week--since it's so fab--but couldn't. Hopefully, you can. :o) Whatever you do, don't get this swine flu. It's as mean as a wild boar!--and it leaves you feeling like you were roughed up by a pack of 'em. LOL.

I'm lovin' this new {Christmas Tags} set from LPS especially the round tags it has in it...for oval scallops. Not to mention the teeny wee Christmas trees.

You can see loads of stunning cards the LPS peeps made
with this set on the LPS blog here:

and in the {Christmas Tags} gallery here

Can't believe I'm missing this sketch. It's so sweet.
Hopefully, I'll get feelin' better so I can try it this week...

Hope you can play along
You could win this {Christmas Tags} set! :-D

...make speedy scallops
(with a tag stamp)

Step 1} Print some ledger paper (I used the digital ledger paper I bought here.)
Stamp & emboss some of the {Christmas Tags} ovals tag & cut them out

Step 2} Fold the tags in half & cut them

Step 3} Adhere the half ovals to a sheet of cardstock

Step 4} Trim the ovals & embellish with a strip of folded & stitched ribbon. (Make bows too, if you like.)

Step 5} I ended up tinting the oval pieces with Glimmer Mist Garden Fairy & stitching on "JOY" as a sentiment.

Step 6} Stamp the teeny LPS tree stamp repeatedly on more of the ledger paper, add a curvy bit of paper & stitch it for snowy hills. Stamp & cut three trees to add on dimensionally, and...

Step 7} Draw some lines & dots of glue on to sprinkle on microbeads for snow.

And that's it. Super simple...

Hope you and yours are feeling great,

Now I need to see if I have any ink that will go well with it... cause you know I have to try something like this. :D
Beautiful work, as always, Mel!
