Now that I've dipped into my patterned paper stash I just can't stop myself. This is one of my favourite patterns by Basic Grey (Pre-169 Phlordilee aged & confused Phresh & Phunky).
The middle (more brown strip) is just a piece I brayered with Basic Brown classic ink. The bloom is embossed with Not Quite Navy craft ink and chocolate chip (center). Then watercoloured with the matching classic reinkers. The middle has beads from dressew. Stamps: "Delight in Life" & "A Greeting for All Reasons."
This is the "How Cheap Am I?" part; I used Not Quite Navy card stock to make a thin matt in behind the plordilee paper, but it always feels like such a waste of all that cardstock! So, I just punched my photo corners out of the center (LOVE this punch.)
The card stock is stamped with Not Quite Navy using the "Well Worn Words" background stamp for some visual texture.
If you don't have a photo corner punch, but you do have square punches then check out Libby's awesome photo corner tutorial!

that's what I do!!! especially when I am using designer paper :) I can't bare to waste it. I love that photo corner punch, just hope SU! brings it out down here in Australia.
Love your card

Actually, you are not cheap, rather you are fruggal! ;) Great card! I really NEED that corner punch!
Thanks for linking to my tutorial! :-) I thought that was the coolest thing when I learned about it - but then I bought the SU corner punch and haven't done it since! LOL! I love your card - very pretty!
Very cool corners. I'm the same way with the patterned paper! I hoarded it, then once I started using it, I just wanted to keep going!
I really need to start using this idea of saving paper. Especially with "in-colors". I am still mourning that I can't get any more cool caribbean, and my supply is dwindling. Using the "punching out of the center" technique will make my vanishing supply last just a bit longer. Thanks for the reminder to do this!
Wow so pretty! I love the pattern paper and the pretty flower in the center. Don't worry you're not cheap. . .I'm cheaper. I don't throw away any scraps regardless of how small they are. I always feel I'll find some use for them and I usually do.
Fabulous job!
