Homemade Prima Card

Wish I could get the camera to capture how this looks in person. It somehow doesn't look right: it's more neon in the pic. than it is in real life...and the pic. shows less texture. Oh well, you'll just hafta try it yourself! ;0) This card is made with the homemade flower from this tutorial in my last post. It needed something desperately though, and when I went on splitcoaststampers
I figured out how to fix it: make it a pocket card! (See below for the changes.) :0)

To make the leaves:

Just draw a leaf shape onto card stock (here I've used "Always Artichoke" and given the leaves a bit of a jagged edge.) Then, score a line down the middle (on a bit of a curve.) Forms a valley fold when you shaper later.
Next, run the leaf under the tap and scrunch it (more gently than the petals.) Tap the damp leaf with an ink pad ("Always Artichoke" here.) Then dry the leaf (almost all the way) with your heat gun and shape. Click on the photo below to see the details:

The designer paper on the card is from Basic Grey's Dasher line "Yule Log" (DSH-621.) The card stock colours used are "Always Artichoke" and "Purely Pomegranate." I just made the thin vertical strips that are darker Artichoke by covering "Always Artichoke" card stock in more (always arty-chokey) ink to make it a darker shade.

Thanks for having a peek!

P.S. (ETA) This is the template if anyone would like it emailed to them. So far I've only figured out how to get it to print the right size by emailing it and printing it in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Please note: this template is set up for printing economy. Try tracing them out with more space between them for ease of cutting or try cutting one leaf out to put atop folded layers & cut through them (the latter is my fave.)

P.P.S. Check out Tracy's gorgeous 3D flowers here and here! They inspired me to research homemade flowers in the first place.
