Been a while since I posted. I have been stamping honest!, but the cards I've made for my "little SBS2 sister" (sent one yesterday *grin*) have to remain a secret, so here is a quick little project instead of cards. :0) Those of you who have read my blog for a while will groan to see this Doodle This flower again, but I never tire of it, lol. I made a lot of primas for cards and I was thinking of making more of a paper mache variety to pretty up the fridge. I love these ones though, so I just stuck them on magnets (with Crystal Effects) et voila I now have a bloomin' pretty fridge!
Pointer for the crystal Effects: put a daub on the magnet and let it sit for a little while before you put your flower on. It makes the Crystal Effects stickier which keeps the flower from sliding around. This is an especially handy trick for gluing small things onto paper, because it keeps the small thing from sliding around your paper & leaving a shiny trail of glue where you don't want it. Also, it sounds funny but don't set your magnets too close to one another when you lay them out on you work surface, because the little devils will attract each other & get Crystal Effects all over. (Ask me how I know...) ;0)
If you wanted to make this the fastest project on the planet, you could make fridge magnets with your favourite store-bought primas. Beads, gems, snaps, gem brads, buttons...all make great centers.
Thanks for reading!
:0)

P.S. For details on how the primas were made please see this post.

I was wondering what you were going to do with all those I saw in the jars....good idea! very pretty!
This is such a great flower set and love your flower magnets.
Mel, your fridge looks beautiful! What a nice way to bring spring back during those cold and wintery days!
No groan from me! I love this flower! I want this stamp set! Gorgeous fridge! I love making magnets!
I sent my SBS2 swap card this week too, but guess what? I mailed it and forgot to take a picture of it! I was disappointed that I did that, because I really like it, and I wanted to feature it on my blog sometime this month. Oh well!
You keep using that flower!!
By the way, Bella looks GORGEOUS on your fridge too!
Cool idea.. imagine what the girls would do to those though. Still would love to make tiled coasters one day!!!! Who says I'm not drunken every day.. heck I should be with these two.
xxoo
Kim
