Cat Card for Kat who has sore paws (faux-bling scallop)

I'm not sure what this is, lol. It's kind of like a gate-fold card I suppose. I wanted something fun for my aunt Kat who is mending after surgery on both her feet. She loves cats, cute, & colourful (sounds just like her: cute colourful Kat) :0)...so hopefully she'll like this...

The cat (and that adorable! wee fish) are from The Cat's Meow. It's actually a set that Kat bought, so I know she'll like the image, heehee. I coloured them using watercolour pencil crayons (SU) and went over the bowl with Crystal Effects to make it look like glass. The little water splashes were covered in Stickles (Arctic Ice which is turquoisey) :0) [In hindsight, I think I would have added a little Stickles at the bottom of the fish bowl too and gone over it with Crystal Effects.]

Stickles was used to make faux gems in the scallops (You know how the S.U. corner rounder leaves a little circular impression in the middle of each scallop you punch?) Well, those little divots make a great guide for Faux-Bling Dotted Scallop. Here's how:
  1. Punch holes where the circular divots are in the scallop (or you can use a "Threading Water" punch Droooool!)
  2. Adhere a strip of cardstock in behind
  3. Fill the holes with Stickles
  4. (Or you can use the holes as a guide to add real tiny gems)

This is an envelope substitute that I like to call the goofy name of bellybandelope. Instructions on how to make one here (but it's so simple that I doubt you'll need 'em!) :0)

Other Card Supplies:

Stamps:
The Cat's Meow, Define your life
Card stock: Almost Amethyst, Soft Sky, Lovely Lilac, Barely Banana (dry embossed in Cuttlebug swirls folder)
Accessories:
alphabet stickers (dollar store); scallop & circle punches, Image: Stazon, watercolour pencil crayons, & Crystal Effects. Scallop: corner-rounder (SU retired), Hand-held hole punch 1/16 inch, Stickles (Arctic Ice); "You" definition tab: Marvy Giga square Scallop punch, clear e.p., Not Quite Navy craft ink, tiny gems (Michael's); Wee flowers: Three for you punch, fresh favourites eyelets, silver cording. "Feel Better" sentiment is computer generated & punched with the word window punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope you are feelin' your crafty mojo! :0)
