Water window Turtle & eat cake Fishy!

Just a quick post today with a little bit o' cute. This guy is a water window gate-fold card made with hair gel (fun to squish!) --added some Stickles to this one & so there's a bit o' glitter. I have a thing for that cute lil' eat cake graphics fishy, love his little smiling face!

Here's the inside view of the gatefold:

The dark swirly cardstock framing Mr. Turtle Dude is done with hot Cuttlebug embossing:
  1. Cuttlebug emboss your cardstock
  2. Swipe with Craft ink
  3. Add clear (or other embossing powder)
  4. Heat it up :0)
(A variation & more detailed instructions here.)

The swirly Cuttlebug paper is matted with white & Cool Caribbean cardstock, the main card is Soft Sky c.s. embossed with the flourish from Baroque Motifs (Versamark & clear e.p.)

The turtle dude reminds me of the surfer turtle from Finding Nemo (he's from the Silly Sea Life set) I coloured him(and his fishy buddies) with SU's watercolour pencil crayons:

Here's a Water window tutorial if you wanna try one, and a couple other gel cards: Mara mermaid floats & a Shark water card.

Hope you have the most fabulous day! :0)

P.S. Just a little note on how these gel thingers might last for you. My hair gel evaporated eventually (a few months) so I was happy I added the Stickles so there was still some interest left. Not sure how they mail, but squishin' that gel is irresistible fun! :0)

P.P.S. 82 things you can do with your Cuttlebug here
in case ya missed em the other 12000 times I mentioned 'em, like a broken record, heehee. (Well, You never know!) ;0)

How adorable Mel! I've not yet made a water window card - no one in the family uses hair gel!

I just love looking at your creations! They are always so great! And I love how you've always got the tutorials so we know just how you did it!
Thanks so much for your wonderful blog!

Well, you little squisher, you!! I just knew you'd be sittin' o'er there squishin' your card!

Hey, Mel-a-liscious, we are semi-operating on the same spooky/crazy wave-length: I made a gate-fold card last night ... no gel to squish, or for that matter, no fish ... and, um no Cuttlebug'd stuff ... and, eek, no glitter either.

Okay, forget it ... it appears tht the ONLY thing in common is the way the dang card opens ...

I must try this gel thing ... I'll thin' I'll wait till my meds level off though .... LOLO, I kid!

But I truly {heart} what you've done here ... and the fishies rock!

Oops, forgot:

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you for puttin' the you-and-the-ducky-in-the-bathtub profile pix back up.

I think it truly expresses the real you and your take on socio-economics, government, philosophy, and the humanities.

Seriously. Thank you.

Now go squeeze some gel packs!

~Hugs ... from the serious side of me

Gosh you need to stop filling my brain with ideas. I can't keep up with you, if I have to go shopping every day, so I can CASE you :-)

Very pretty with all the little fishies everywhere.

Did you know there are some stamps in the with love set that you could use for creating an ocean floor?

I come in later, just so I can read Deb's comments too. She is a hoot.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love x 10 this card and especially those little fishes.
Before reading your text, I thought about Squirty too. You know, the Dude from "Finding Nemo".

Oh, boy! When I grow up I wanna be like you :D

I know for sure I'll never have a cuttlebug, but I will definitely spoil myself with a few critters from "Eat Cake" when I win the lottery... or even before that.

And... I know you already got it but who knows, maybe you can find a second one useful - there's a 'Visa Gold' for you on my blog ;).

Hugs,
Mada
