There needs to be a Paper-holics Anonymous! I can't walk buy a rack of the stuff, find myself looking at the textures/colors of the mail, and saving scraps to make my own!
Without paper, where would we stampers be? ROFL

What's not to love about paper?! I love the colors (when you see a well stocked shop, colors all lined up - don't you just want to dive in?), the way it scores, how it feels.... Yup, I'm a paper tramp!
The one thing I don't love? STORING all that paper (I've had to call a moratorium on buying paper, there is no room at the inn! lol) so that I can protect it, find it, love it AND use it. *sigh*

Mel...what a fun blog candy!!! Every time I walk thru the door with more paper my poor husband just shakes his head. He supports me but just doesn't understand. It is an addiction. Not just any paper will do. There is special paper destined for each project. Sometimes I will have paper for so long that I don't remember where it came from and then all of a sudden it is the perfect paper for a project. I try to always buy paper when it is on sale so that my hobby doesn't break the bank. I have to admit. I love to feel it, look at it, play with it....and that is the beginning of my project....most of the time....my paper leads the way.

Thanks for all the postings....it is fun to see that I'm not the only one that is in love with and totally addicted to my paper =0)

Happy Holidays....

What a great question! Its hard to put into words why paper would make a person so happy, but obviously I'm not alone. The vast possibility of designs from vintage to contemporary, soft and subtle to outrageous, all can be achieved, purchased, stored and treasured so easily in a simple piece of paper. It IS strange, isn't it?

I am drawn to paper because of the colors and color combinations. Before I started making cards and collecting paper, I was feeling the winter blues and bought florescent card stock and hung the sheets throughout the house. My eyes and brain were craving vibrant colors instead of seeing everything in shades of white and cream.

Paper in different colors make me feel happy.

WOW, thanks for the opportunity of blog candy, it's such fun to dream. I think that part of the allure of designer paper...to dream of the possibilities that you can create. I'm a sucker for DP, like most everyone in this list it seems, I have a whole pile and yet it's the first thing I look at when I just happen to find myself in a Scrapbook Store. :-) The colour, texture, and print are what draw me to a paper..(what else is there??) Gosh, that's a deep question for me! LOL! Actually, I've been collecting paper from childhood. I started off collecting notebook paper of all things. I used to use them to draw, write, and I just loved having them for some odd reason. In my teen years, I began collecting journals. . .I had a journal since the age of 12. Then I would buy journals just to have them. As an adult, I began collecting stationaries. . .all the pretty ones with the matching box and envelopes. Strangely, I would never use them to send letters to people.

Then. . .I discovered "crafting paper" (designer paper and cardstock) a few years ago. . .and my obsession for them began and now, I can make the notebooks, journals, and stationaries myself.

Now to my favorite thing about them. . .I just love the beautiful prints on designer paper and how they can be used to create beautiful things. I love the fact that I can actually make the things with paper that I used to buy pre-made is my favorite thing about them.

Thanks for offering the awesome blog candy!!

Hmmm....can't get enough patterned paper, love trying out new brands and new styles. I guess I love the fact that they are coming out with new patterned paper that is thicker than some of the other patterned paper out there. It isn't flimsy :)!
Thank you so much for this chance to win some goodies :)!

I love to get ideas from patterned paper colour combos... just getting into patterned paper now (used to use mainly cardstock). There's so much out there!

If you could see my craft room - and the amount of paper I have - you would think I must love everything about paper and you'd be right. I can't go into Michael's Hobby Lobby etc without heading first to the paper - not that I need anymore but it's very rare that I don't walk out with at least 6 pieces of something I just HAD to have.

paper... I just love the different feels of the various texrures, the looks of the colors, and their shades.... then you can always add IF you don't like what you see... paper is WONDERFUL!! Then WHEN or IF you make an error, it's not that expensive to start over, or just take the opportunity to be creative, some of th emost creative efforts have been mistakes!!

Paper... it's so versatile and beautiful. It can take us places in books and remember things for us and allows us to be creative. I've had a love affair with paper my whole life and I'm so glad that I've found a hobby that I can use to worship this love of mine.

I love to walk down the aisle of the store that has all of the papers or walk into a scrapbook store and just oogle the papers. There are so many wonderful colors and designs. Yummy!!

I guess I like everything about paper, because I collect all kinds, colors, textures, sizes, etc. My problem is that I still never have "just the right piece of paper" for my project.

Wow...that IS a funny question for us paper lovers to answer!! I can remember so well, after two, mind you, TWO days of shopping with my Sister who was teaching me paper crafts, I declared, "Don't let me buy any more paper. I have enough paper to last me for a lifetime." SILLY ME!!!! The only thing I don't like about it is when it comes in those beautiful double-sided styles. Talk about hoarding....how can one ever use that stuff to make something that will leave your house? Plus, I can never decide which side to use, so I just keep it all for myself!! I feel better now. Paper lends itself to so many creative avenues! Easy to manipulate resize, texturize, alter, embellish,...and best of all it doesn't require prepping!

Thanks for letting me in on the fun!

As a child I lived not far from a paper factory so it's always been there for me as off-cuts, but without it I couldn't stamp, tear, fold it, experiment with different textures and thickness's.I just love paper! Thanks for a chance.

Arianne said...

What's there not to love about paper?
I love how you can tear, ink, sand, crumble and stamp paper.
But what I love most is the feel of paper. Especially with all the embossed, flocked, glittered and textured paper out there.
