Creative Cuts & More-Caardvarks wedding shower set

I had a blast making this white wedding shower set for the newest Caardvarks challenge:

With lots of luscious die-cuts
Sponsored by

Who knew acetate wasn't actually scary? You were probably in the know, but I was shaking in my stamping boots! Turns out it's really not scary; it's actually fun & sassy! heehee I like how the shine of acetate, lets you get a shabby chic look with a mix of modern and vintage.

Of course, Creative Cuts has more than just acetate, they have a zillion yummy colours...

Anywho, here are the bits & bobs of the wedding shower set & a quick overview of how I made them. I'll have more details for you in a long tutorial soon, but please feel free to ask any questions you might have. :O)

This purse invitation is
made with a die cut from Creative Cuts & more (their exclusive shape): Creative Cuts & More A2 Acetate purse card

To make it I did this stuff:

-Adhered a beaded paper panel to the front
-Added inside panels
-Wound the 2 handles in embroidery thread (over some red tacky tape)
-Added a vintage shoe clip as a closure

This little place-card is made with CC & M's Antique Label (Acetate)

To make it, I did this stuff:

-Scored with a paper piercer & ruler at the middle of the CC & M acetate antique label to fold it in half
- Adhered a hand-cut paper piece (that was stitched with beads)
-Embossed "Bride to Be" and punched it (with an SU boho bloossoms punch)
-Glittered the blossom with a quickie glue pen

This favour box
is made with Creative Cuts & More's Creel Box (Acetate)

To make it I did this stuff:

-Folded the creel box (It's pre-scored for you)
-Assembled it with red tacky tape
Filled it with beads, lip gloss, & jewelery
-Wrapped it with a paper band (with beads & a vintage button stitched on it)

& the inside...

This 3x3 square box is made with Creative Cuts' Square Box die cut (in metallic Stardream Opal). I just LOVE the shimmer of that cardstock & the perfect fit of the lid rocks!

To make it I did this stuff:

-Folded the box & lid (it's pre-scored for you)
-Lined the inside bottom with glittery striped paper
-Beaded a strip of paper to go around the lid & sewed a piece of a vintage necklace to it
-Adhered the strip to the lid
-Stuck on flowers made by: printing a MUJKA digital floral pattern (from My Grafico & glittered it with a quickie glue pen

The delicate flower design is part of a floral digital kit by MUJKA (from My Grafico) I printed it on vanilla cardstock & went over it with a quickie glue pen & glitter. A speedy way to get fancy paper for pennies. :O)

and I'll be posting a full photo tutorial on this acetate gate-fold card soon, but here's a summary of the gift-card holder/wedding card:

This is an acetate gate-fold gift-card holder (Try saying that 5 times quickly!) ;o)

It's made with both a die cut gate-fold card from Creative Cuts & more [A2 Gatefold card (Acetate)] & their antique label [CC & M Antique Label (Acetate)] To be honest, I was intimidated about trying the acetate (especially with sewing it) but I found it easier to sew than paper!

To make it I did this stuff:

-Traced the acetate card shape onto digital MUJKA floral paper that was printed & embossed with glitter.
-Cut the paper into three (a rectangular middle and the 2 curved side sections)
-pierced the two curved sides (through both the paper & the acetate) and stitched it together
-Adhered panels of coordinating paper on the inside of the curved panels
-Beaded a belly band (2 inch by 12 inch strip of paper folded to go around the middle)
-Sewed a piece of a vintage necklace to it

For a gift card pocket...
-Pierced & stitched one of Creative Cuts antique labels (in acetate)
-Tucked a folded piece of paper in the pocket (with money inside or a gift card fits perfectly)
