1...MFTeasers--LOTs of inspiration on Kim's blog at 11:00 AM EST
2...how to embellish this cutie & make a high-backed box
3...the box template
-1-

Kim's blog will be loaded up at 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time with links to all kinds of gorgeous MFT (My Favorite Things) teasers. (I've been SO inspired by the stunning creations everyone's been making! Have you seen 'em?) :O)

-2-

...embellish this MFT cutie:
(and make a high-backed 3x3 box)

  • Stamp Set MFT Pure Innocence Blooming Good Day
  • Perfect Paper Panels, Black Archival ink, clear embossing powder, heat gun
  • Copic markers & Prismacolour pencils, Spica glitter pen (clear)
  • Glitzy Glitter, Diamond Glaze, Tombow Monomulti
  • Box template (linked below as well), scallop punch
  • River Rock Cardstock & Cosmo Cricket patterned paper
  • Paper piercer, needle, thread (turquoise, yellow, & red) seed beads

Step 1) Stamp colour & pierce one MFT Pure Innocence Blooming Good Day image. Create dimension by stamping and cutting the section with her holding the watering can. I stamped it on Perfect Paper Panels and embossed on it. That paper IS perfect--nice & heavy too so it holds up to sewing beautifully...

Step 2) Trim the image (I should have done that but got excited about adding bits on instead...) & add red thread knots to the hem of her dress

Step 3) Stitch seed beads on her her pigtails to make those retro bauble pigtail holders.

Step 4) Pierce & stitch the grass & flower stem. Add a bead in the flower center.

Step 5) Glue on some Glitzy Glitter for the water (it looks real--super sparkly, I tell ya!)

Step 6) Colour the watering can with glitter & add a coat of Crystal Lacquer (makes it extra glittery.) :o)

Step 7) Adhere the dimensional layer to the image.

Step 8) Print, score, & cut box template. Cut strips of 12x12 paper (just a touch over 3 inches high x 12 inches. Adhere it to the box & trim it (stitch first if you like sewing.)

and finally... Step 9) Adhere the image to the back of the box...

The matching card...

was made by...

A) Stamping the sentiment on Perfect Paper Panels in black ink
B) Embossing it with clear embossing powder.
C) Punching it out with a scallop punch
D) Piercing & stitching around it & colouring the outer petals (Copics)
E) Cutting out a flower from Cosmo Cricket paper
F) Cutting some cardstock leaves & piercing & stitching leaf veins
G) Assembling it on a 3 inch wide by 2.3 inch tall mini card

-3-

(high-backed 3x3 box)

The bottom of this box measures a touch over
3 inches wide by 3 inches high
(and the same with the back panel piece)
It's 1 3/4 inches from front to back.

How very cute! I just discovered your blog and can't believe the amount of free templates that you so generously share. I can't believe that the same templates are posted on other blogs for a fee. What's up with that? Thank you so much for sharing all your designs!

Gee Mel, as usual your work is soooo cute! I love the little girl in her pigtails, but mostly I love how your handy work with thread and needle. I only tried it once and it was really hard to get the needle through the card stock. Lovely work!
