Thank You all so very much for your sweet words of support about our Miss Mouse! I have some good news to share with you now, but there is not as much news to report as we would like...since after all this time we are still not sure what is ailing her.
The new specialist Vet now thinks it is her liver that is irritated, and can't rule out cancer of the liver yet... but has thankfully ruled out lung cancer. What looked like a tumour on her lung was a blood vessel! All we know right now is that she has asthma (hence the blood vessel in her lung) & that she'll need to use an inhaler. But she is coughing much much less & she does seem to be feeling up to playing and cuddling and eating like a wild ravenous beastie!
I just can't thank you all enough for your kindness. I read all of your kind comments with such gratitude (though I was unable to answer each one as I would have liked to) and I feel for those of you who have lost your fur babies or who have sick ones at home. I'm sending my love & hopes & hugs right back to you all, people and animal-loved-ones alike! ox
Much Love and Thanks,
Mel & Charles & Miss Mouse.
P.S. my computer is semi-salvaged so I hope to be able to do a post soonish. :-)

So glad to hear that things are looking up. Take care.
Mel, my heart goes out to Miss Mouse and her mommy & daddy for the strength to care for her. Hope she gets better soon, kitty prayer for Miss Mouse ;)
Poor little thing. Hope she gets better soon.
I love this pic with her little ducky... sometimes comfort is just hugging a favorite toy...
It's so easy to hate computers! Anyhow, so sorry to hear Miss Mouse is ailing. Hope she is able to recover from her problem. I've lost many pets, many from cancer, and it's always so heartbreaking to watch them suffer. My prayers are with you, Miss Mouse, Charles , and, your computer.
That's good news, and we'll take it! Hugs to you and Mouse. xo
Oh Mel that is good news indeed. Seems her little ducky is giving her comfort too!
What a sweetie she is! (That photo melts my heart.) Glad to hear that the vet has been able to rule some things out and get closer to a diagnosis. Also, glad t hear she is feeling a bit better! It's so tough to see an animal you love suffer...hopefully, she's on the up and up!
Sorry I haven't sent a word before. I am a french fan and quite reserved.
Thank your for these news. I hope Mouse will get better and better and that the vet will find what she has and a good cure for her. I have myself a maine coon with an unknown condition (that he has since kitten) but thankfully not a serious one. Even without knowing what he has exactly the vet found a cure that allows him to live a normal life. But we spent almost a year searching for the reasons and a good cure without success. I hope that at least you'll find something that makes Mouse feel better so that she can be part of your life as long as possible with no pain!
Lots of hugs to Miss Mouse and courage to you all!
THank you for the update. Glad to hear there is some improvement in Miss Mouse's condition. Sending lots of hugs and purrs.
Adorable photo of your cat. Glad that there is some good news although it sounds like you still have a long road ahead of you. All the best for Miss Mouse.
Poor Miss Mouse!
Luckily there is no lungcancer! But Asthma isn´t fine too! Hope you can handle this inhaler-thing!
Still cross my fingers that she will get better soon!
hugs scrapkat
Aw, I hope your sweet kitty Miss Mouse will recover from this. I love cats - I have two of my own and they are spoiled rotten. Sending hugs to you and cuddles to your kitty.
Sending you and Miss Mouse healing energies.
Big cyber cuddles to you all, Jo x
Huge hugs to you Mel as you will no doubt still be worried... It was I that lost my fur baby 'Tiggy' before Christmas - it broke my heart.
Hope your vet brings you some positive news soon, and that it's just something that can be treated with medication. Fingers crossed.
Hope you will keep us abreast with any progress.
Take care yourself,

So glad she is feeling a bit better! Good sign that she has her appetite back and will play and cuddle. Did not know that cats can have asthma and use inhalers.... that must be a challenge!
Thanks for posting the update! Good thoughts to you and Miss Mouse!
keeping everything
crossed that they get mouse sorted out soon and back to good health
So glad you updated us on Miss Mousie. Glad she's doing a bit better. How in the world do you get a cat to use an inhaler? With a mask of some sort?
I am so glad to hear that Mousie is doing better. Sending her my hugs :)
What wonderful news. I've been checking daily for an update. I wonder if cats can take Milk Thistle extract. It's great for cleaning up the liver.
Mel, I'm sending you and Miss Mouse a HUGE virtual hug. Thank you so much for the update and being such a wonderful, caring and responsible mama to Mouse. I'm glad to know that things are a little better with her not coughing as much, playing and eating. Will continue to keep you my thoughts and prayers.
I am soooo glad that your kitty is doing well! Sorry for not stopping by earlier, life has been VERY busy.
Glad to hear Miss Mouse does not have lung cancer, what a relief! Hugs and prayers for a continued improvement in her health.
I'm so glad to hear the your sweet little fur baby is feeling at least a bit better. Sending prayers your way that it is nothing that can't be fixed by more antibiotics.
I found you today through Pinterest and your 200 embossing ideas. I am grateful for all those ideas, but I am so sorry to hear about Miss Mouse. I wish only the best for you all.
Hope she gets better soon!
I will say a prayer for Miss Mouse and a speedy recovery. She is totally adorable! Hugs.
Hi Mel, I pop by your blog quite a lot but haven't commented before. I hope that Miss Mouse continues to recover. My fur babies and I send hugs.

So glad to hear that some things have been ruled out. As many a rescue kitty have passed through our doors - and several found their forever home with us - we have had our share of kitty illnesses over the years.
I must say that "Care Credit" has been a God Send for those times. 5 of our kitties have had their very own regular kitty cardiologist appointments and that is NOT cheap, but necessary. Care Credit gives you 6-12 months with no interest, FYI.
I do not envy you having to use an inhaler on a kitty. We have one that needs it and from our experience, cats do not take too kindly to having a mask over their faces - with or without foul smelling/tasting medication being administered at the time.
DH and I, along with our 4 furbabies, send you and Mouse happy thoughts. We are also saying prayers for the doctors to have speedy and accurate insight into what is the true problem (as well as how to fix it) and that Mouse responds quickly to treatment.
Gentle furry hugs.
