Meet some New Characters! (MFTeasers)

I'm SO excited!

It's day two of the teasers for some incredibly sweet new MFT sets!!!

Cloud templates (Freebie, linked below)
Heavy weight white Sweet tooth cardstock
MFT Summer digital paper collection "White Circles" or the set with all four seasons here.
Green patterned paper--My Mind's Eye Abbey Road-Nice Ride
Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac, Tombow Monomulti
Gesso, Black Archival ink, Clear embossing powder, heat gun
Copic markers, Paper piercer, needle, black thread,
Pencil & Eraser; Scissors & Scoring tools
Silver metallic pen (his zipper); Puffy pen (his collar & hat)

Fred Bear in Flight:

He's super fun to colour and surprisingly easy to cut out, for dimension...

Fred is stamped, here, on gesso paper (which I then coloured
with Copic markers--using the chisel nib end to protect brush tips from clogging.)

It gives a funky (if slightly unpredictable) texture:

Kind of like old leather. ;-)

He has fur texture scratched on him, as well:

(using the end of a paper piercing tool.
You could also scratch with pointy tipped scissors...)

and there are a couple of stitches on his bomber jacket...

and puffy pen made the fleece on his jacket...

A little tip for fluffy pen-You can scrape off any excess puffy stuff that you end up with anywhere that you've gone over the lines of the stamped image. If the lines look whitened from the puffy stuff, then you can touch them up with a fine-tipped black marker. (Don't you love cheating disaster? hehehe) ;-)

The cloud shaped card, grass, & assembly:

Step 1) Print the cloud shape template.

Step 2) Make the main card:

2A) Cut out the large cloud template to trace & make the main card shape. (It's marked A at the top of the template--which is linked below.)

2B) Score & fold a standard piece of white cardstock in half.

2C) Place the large cloud template over the folded part of the cardstock, to preserve the fold that will become the card top.

2D)Trace the cloud shape lightly in pencil.

2E)Cut it out and erase the pencil lines

Step 3) Trace & cut another cloud shape (on just one single layer of white cardstock this time.) This will give you a full shape to layer on the front of the shaped card you made in step 2. It'll be nice & sturdy.

Little tip: Lining the template up with the bottom of your white cardstock before tracing, gives you a perfect bottom line & saves paper.

Step 4) Cut grass fringe for the bottom of the cloud.

Step 5) Make a patterned cloud for a card mat. Cut out the smaller cloud template (marked B at the bottom of the template.) Trace it onto patterned paper. Cut the patterned cloud out & adhere to the full single layer cloud shape.

This blue dotted paper is digital (my new thrifty addiction.) It's from the MFT Summer digital paper collection (available here). This particular sheet/pattern is called "White Circles" and I am in LOVE with it! or... you might prefer the set with all four seasons here.

Step 6) Adhere the grass fringe to the card.

Step 7) Adhere the folded card to the back of the full decorated cloud shape.

Step 8) Adhere Fred to the card. And draw little dots around the cloud edge if you like ...see the photo below:

...and that's it...

...to do the dots around the outside of the card,
I used a BG72 Ice Ocean Copic marker (pressing quite lightly)
