One Little Button Book (for 3D Design Challenge blog)

This button book is made with out of one 12x12 piece of paper for 3D Design Challenge. Check it out for adorable mini books made by Carrie & Pamela. :O)

I found it hard to believe that a sheet of 12 by 12 cardstock could turn into a whole little book, but it works with Jan Tink's "One Little Book" template! I knew I wanted to make a button book as a gift. (It's for keeping track of extra buttons & fixtures that come with clothes.) This kind of book was perfect for buttons, because it's nice and sturdy when you make it from cardstock (so it holds the buttons really well without tearing the pages.)

ETA: Carrie made a fantastic video tutorial on how to fold a minibook. You can find it here.

Supplies:

For construction:

For stamping & embellishing:

For the hinges:

For the embossed paper:
  • Vellum cardstock (SU)
  • Emboss with Versamark & clear embossing powder
  • Colour with a black marker or ink

For the Buttons Sentiment:
  • Draw letters on in Glitter pen (or pencil will do)
  • Pierce with a paper piercing tool
  • Stitch with Black embroidery thread & a needle

How to:

Follow Jan Tink's "One Little Book" template

One little tip for building the book:
I found it easiest to score all of your fold lines first on a Scor-Pal (The score lines let you see where to cut):

1) Score once at each of these marks: 3, 6, & 9 inches
2) Turn the paper
3) Score at 4 & 8 inches
4) Cut & fold as marked on Jan's template
5) add cover (as per Jan's instructions)

Thanks for taking time to stop in &
Happy Stamping! :O)
