CD Pocket Card tutorial & Sewing on Paper Links

I made a mixed CD for someone special and wanted to make a card to give it in. So here it is. A very simple project with one cut and two fold lines.

CD Pocket Card How-to:

1. Cut a piece of cardstock to 5 2/8 inches by 11.5 inches.
(If you're using standard size cardstock then it means you need to make just one cut.) Stamp it, if you like.

2. Score it at 3 inches and at 8 inches & fold.

3. Add adhesive at the very edges (you can place a CD on your project to make sure it will fit later)

4. Embellish your pocket. (I added stitches to tie in with the front.)

5. Add a decorated piece to the front. Lots of layers are great for this since the weight of them keeps the card shut.

Card details:
Cardstock: SU's new in colour pink pirouette & old Olive. Patterned paper AG1254 by Anna Griffin, Riot of Petals background stamp (available in Stampin' Up!s dormant list) coloured with pink pirouette and Old Olive. Vanilla brads from Bazzill Basics Paper.

Smokin' Joe! This is soooooo cool. So many thoughts after looking at this.
1) I'm hoping that you're feeling better!
2) I was an avid sewer in a former day (before paper crafting) when our kids were younger. Need to dust off my sewing machine.
3) I love the designer paper! It's gorgeous.
4) Can't wait to get a ScorPal!! Way cool things can be done with this!!
5) My new fetish is the marker grid thing you've done here ;-)
6) Where on earth do you find the time to search up all these links? They are so informative when I have time to follow them!
7) This is the greatest DIY gift idea I've seen in a long time! (Right up there with the boxes/purses card sets that you've also done) Hmmmm I think Christmas is coming.........
TFS!

Okay, Yes I'm back... I was just thinking...LOL.... Visiting you're blog just gives me a wonderful high... creative juices abound there!
I was thinking that if you added an extra scored part at the bottom and made it a titch bit wider, you could actually fit a CD case right in there. Oh the possibilities........

Super duper topper! And you had to tease me with putting more of that gorgeous paper in the background too :-) Beautiful thread work.

The CD pocket looks kind of plain next to the ornate topper it has :-( You should stamp some swirls or paisleys or something with a very light colored ink or versamark. Or just leave it be. I tend to mess up things trying to do something.
