I had so much fun with this one. It was inspired by April's stunning card here. She used the loveliest stamp by Autumn Leaves. I'd love to buy it, but I'm saving my pennies for schtuff from the new SU catalogue. I've been feeling artsy-fartsy lately--with all the doodling for that lino carving, so I drew a vase and made a vellum mask. The vase-shaped mask meant that I could stamp the French Script background to mimic the Romance of Spring stamp. I stamped on vellum for the look of glass (and it's kind of nifty that you can see the flower stem through it!)
1st: I made the mask & stamped through it onto a sheet of vellum (once in black craft ink & I embossed that.)
2nd: I laid the mask over again & just smudged the wet ink over the previously embossed vellum underneath. This made a frosty kind of look.
3rd: I embossed the vase again. It looks kind of like shiny smoked glass I.R.L.
I cut the vase & the flower out & stuck them on with double-sided tape. (I use it on all my cards now, since many other adhesives fall apart along the way.) The flower is from Stamping Bella. I stamped it in black craft ink on heavy cardstock (after stamping off once 0n scrap paper.) Next, I dried the ink with a heat gun & stamped over a second time with French Script in white craft ink. I embossed that too (cuz I emboss everything, hehehe.)
The designer paper is BasicGrey Port from their Periphery line (PIP-908.) The paper-piercing is freehand because I lost my paper-piercing kit under my big nasty mess of craft stuff.
Thanks so much for looking,
